ARTIST STATEMENT

Jennifer Plourde discovered painting later in life after a major life shift that allowed her to shed the expectations and limits that she had for herself. Her joy and gratitude are expressed through her work in oil, charcoal and gouache - both in the studio and in plein air settings. 

Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of influences, Jennifer has developed her skills by experimentation, classes from several local and national artists, attending the Atelier Studio Program of Fine Art in Minneapolis, and the Florence Academy of Fine Art in Italy.  

In her work, Jennifer aspires to evoke a connection to the beauty of light and the grand expanse of the natural landscape, inviting viewers to a place of peace and awe.

Personally, Jennifer is a mom (of three and step-mom to three, grandma to one), a realtor/business owner specializing in marketing and finance, and an avid home-cook and entertainer. She is inspired by building genuine relationships and connections, traveling to amazing places with her wife, and exploring the natural everyday beauty that surrounds us all.
